WE HAVE TO MOVE ON
Suffolk Archives have been uncovering the stories of Jewish refugees who lived in Newmarket during WWII, inspired by the memoir of Fritz Ball, who came to England from Berlin in 1939. As war loomed, Anthony de Rothschild offered his family residence and stables at Palace House — now the NHRM — as emergency accommodation for Jewish refugees.
Several of them were talented musicians and this exhibition invites you to think about their stories.
Keep in touch with NHRM to hear about a new work by Britten Sintonia inspired by this story.

LUCY KEMP-WELCH:
HER PRIVATE WORLD
An opportunity to see a private album of drawings by a renowned equine artist, best-known for her illustrations for the 1915 edition of Black Beauty. This album of drawings and studies was a gift to her cousin and has never been seen in public before; it contains exquisite drawings and studies which reveal the inner working of the artist’s mind.

NEWMARKET MUSIC & ART FESTIVAL
Organised by local volunteers, who are passionate about bringing like-minded people together, sharing resources and celebrating the Arts and our town! We welcome feedback, support and ideas for the future.
